About Randy

Randy grew up in a family of eight, the second oldest of six children. His father worked as an electrician for General Motors while his mother was a stay-at-home mom. He and his siblings were the first in their family to go to college, with Randy obtaining both bachelors and law degrees from the University of Michigan. Randy has lived in Royal Oak since 1988 and is a member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica. He is happily married to his wife, Joan, and is the proud father of Randy Jr, a student at Central Michigan University and 2015 graduate of Shrine Catholic High School.  In his spare time, Randy cheers for the Detroit Tigers and looks forward to them someday winning another championship!

Randy graduated law school in 1988 and took a job with a local law firm.  He started his own real estate law practice in 1999 and has been self-employed ever since.  In 2010, he started a small business dedicated to helping homeowners reduce their property taxes, and has helped the owners of thousands of homes throughout Michigan save millions on their tax bills.

Randy is dedicated to ensuring that government works hard to provide quality services while keeping the costs down.  Taxpayers of Royal Oak will have a friend on the commission in Randy LeVasseur.

“The primary duty of a city commissioner is to LISTEN to residents, making sure that the priorities of taxpayers are also the priorities of city government.”

~ Randy LeVasseur
